DELSU affiliate programme matriculates 305, as VC harps on character, learning

THE Delta State University full time degree awarding programme in affiliation with the College of Education Agbor, recently matriculated 305 newly admitted students for the 2018/2019 academic session.
Moments after the colourful procession, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor V. F Peretomode, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor (Mrs.) G. N. Ogwu congratulated the new intake for successfully scaling the stringent admission hurdles.
Speaking further, the Vice-Chancellor charged the new intake not to be carried away with the euphoria of being a university undergraduate and consequently losing sight of their academic pursuit.
“Your participation in this unique academic exercise and your successful completion of same, qualifies you as bona-fide students of the Delta State University, Abraka, it is pertinent to remind you therefore, that the journey to academic excellence is primarily anchored on acceptable character, dedication and hard work, “he said.
While commending the Provost of the College for perfectly embracing the lofty programme, the Vice-Chancellor also appreciated the parents and guidance of the students for ensuring that their wards acquire university education.
In the same vein, the University Registrar, Mr. D. A. Urhibo, who administered the matriculation oath on the students, charged them to be wary of any act under the broad classification of “Breach of Matriculation Oath,” adding that the management of the university has repeatedly expressed its zero tolerance to all forms of anti-social vices such as cultism, examination malpractice, indecent and provocative dressing, breach of peace, fighting, stealing, sexual harassment, religious extremism among others.
The students who thunderously echoed the oath of allegiance beseeched God to help and guild them through the academic journey.
Present at the occasion were, the Vice- Chancellor, Professor V. F. Peretomode, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, (Academic) Professor (Mrs.) G. N. Ogwu, the Provost, College of Education, Agbor, Dr. J. O. Ukadike Deputy Provost, Dr. A. O. Ukpene, the Registrar of the Delta State University, Mr. D. A. Urhibo, the University Librarian, Prof. S. O. Uwaifo, the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Delsu, Prof. Emperor Kpangban, Director, Affiliate Degree Programmes, Delsu, Professor D. Nakpodia, Prof. S. Okoye others were, the Registrar COE, Mr. B. O. Utalor, the Bursar COE, Mr. D. C. Opute, Dr. Dania, Deputy Registrars Senate and Students, Mr. E. Egheneji and Mr. H. Egbedi respectively, the university Public Relations Officer, Mr. F. O. Aganbi, Mr. Orogodo U. I, Mr. H. Eseka and many others.
