HEALTH CARE NEEDS OF DELTANS ULTIMATE PRIOTY TO OKOWA, SAYS OKOBAH

The Chairman Delta state primary healthcare development Agency, Dr Isioma Okobah today asserted that the healthcares of Deltans are utmost priority in the administration of Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.

Dr Okobah made the assertion during a one day orientation for round two (2) Outbreak Response for circulating vaccine derived polio type2 (cVDPV2).

The DSPHCDA Chairman said the administration of Dr Okowa places high priority in the overall healthcare needs of Deltans which has brought about massive transformation in health facilities and reducing medical tourism of Deltans.

Chairman Okobah said a lot of resources have been deployed to the health sector in the state adding that the health indices of the state have improved since the administration of Dr Okowa.

Assessing the outcome of round one exercise, Dr Okobah commended the resilience of the health worker which made the exercise successful.

She added that the effort of health workers in reaching every eligible child in the last exercise is yielding more programs to the state.

Speaking in the same vein, the executive director of the agency, Dr Winful- Orieke Jude appreciated the dedication and team spirit by all the LGA team, expressed optimism that the round two and other campaigns will equally record huge success.

Dr Jude called on parents and caregivers to present their eligible wards (0-59 months) for the exercise as multiple doses has no side effects rather give more immunity.

The state immunization officer Dr Ngozi Orofuke disclosed that the second round of the OBR cVDPV2 will be conducted in Oshimili North, Oshimili South and Ndokwa East LGAs from 21st -24th March 2020.

The orientation course witnessed presentations from World Health Organization (WHO) State coordinator Dr Onyinye Emefiele, Pharm Jijiho Ogun WHO CC, UNICEF VSL Mr Brown Atenega Uvietobore, NPHCDA state coordinator Dr Okechukwu Ofonakara and representative of State Health educator Mr Emmanuel Odejorho.
