Idama II confers Otuyota title on Eghere
By Dafe Omoko
A Warri based contractor, Sylvester Eghere Udi was conferred with the title of ‘ Otuyota ‘ of Okere Urhobo Kingdom by the Orosuen (traditional ruler) of Okere Urhobo Kingdom HRM Professor Paul Oghenero Okumagba in Warri last weekend
Otuyota, in Urhobo language, means the one that speaks the truth. That was why many who were interviewed by our correspondent shortly after the conferment of the chieftaincy title were of the opinion that the title was a deserved reward for the new Okere Urhobo chief’s forthrightness whenever he is called upon to comment on any issue.
In a brief chat with our correspondent, the Otuyota of Okere Urhobo Kingdom expressed appreciation to HRM Idama 11 for the gesture which he noted was an honour which would further spur him to do what he is known for, speaking the truth always.
He later held a grand reception for guests at his posh residence at Okurode (Ekurede Urhobo ).
