I‘ll be loyal to party leadership – Ogodo
By Ekoko Rita,
The Delta State All Progressive Congress, APC, Deputy Chairman, Hon Moses Ogodo has vowed to move the party forward with a promise to unite the party ahead of 2023.
Ogodo, who was speaking at the State APC Secretariat in Asaba, the state capital, after the enlarged state executive committee of the party and swear-in of the new state secretary of the party, Alex Nwadiamu, said “I am elated that the party is finding me worthwhile for a position like this, I have always been a party man, and I want to thank the party leadership for this appointment, like the party chairman, Prophet Jones Erue said, they are bringing me and the others into the state excos, because the party wants rejuvenation and putting life into it, we are ready for the battle to take over Delta in 2023”.
The All Progressive Congress, APC, candidate in the last Delta State House of Assembly elections also promised his total loyalty to the party leadership especially the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo Agege. “He is a leader with a difference that is why we are saying the Urhobos should be grateful that God has really blessed us with a leader who has our interest at heart.
“We will move the party forward with the view to wooing more intending members and also to use the office to unite the party ahead of 2023, so we are pleading for the party understanding and cooperation. We also ask for members understanding and cooperation, let’s work together to be one APC in Delta” he added.
Meanwhile the State Party Chairman, Prophet Jones Erue has accused Ogboru of solely being responsible for the party’s abysmal performance in the 2019 governorship election in the state.
Erue, who was speaking at the party Secretariat in Asaba said “many factors were responsible for APC failure in elections in the state. Most of the candidates the party chose through real primaries were removed in hotel rooms. That’s why Chief Ogboru continues contesting election and turned it into business making venture.”
He also disclosed that members of the five-man panel set up by the sacked State Secretary of the party; Mr Chidi Okonji had been suspended from the party.
