Oharisi resumes duty as board chairman, school of health tech

THE newly sworn-in Board Chairman of School of Health Technology Ufuoma-Ughelli, Prince Dr. Chris Oharisi and his Board members have resumed duty and were received by the Rector of the School of Health, Dr. (Mrs.) Augustina Erah along with her management staff, including other staffers of the school with joy, hopes and high expectations towards upgrading the school to a College of Health, Science and Technology in his time.
Addressing the management staff and workers of the school, the Chairman of the School’s Governing Board, Dr. Chris Oharisi charged them to be prudent and punctual to duties as unproductive staff at all levels will not be tolerated just as he warned against lateness and absenteesm; reminding them that Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa led Government of Delta State does not condole such attitudes to work, especially his government is honest and committed to prompt payment of salaries to civil servants in the state.
Responding, the Rector of the School, Dr. (Mrs.) Augustina Erah welcomed the Dr. Chris Oharisi and his board members with joy and warm embrace, expressing hopes and high expectations on the upgrading of the school to College of Health, Science and Technology to enable for other benefits to the college, management, staff and students as well as Ufuoma Community and Ughelli Kingdom generally, including the surrounding communities and villages.
The rector further assured the chairman of prudence and punctuality by workers of the school at all levels adding that with the chairman and his board members, all will be more committed to duties while expecting the pronouncement of the school’s upgrade to the College of Health level.
At Ofuoma Community Town Hall, the people of Ofuoma community (host community) welcomed the board chairman and his members, expressing hope that as a son of the soil, his priority would be for the betterment of the school and the community.
At the Ovie’s Palace, Ughelli, the Ughelli Monarch, HRM. DR. Wilson Ojakovo Oharisi III and some of his chiefs welcomed Dr. Chris Oharisi and his board members to Ughelli Kingdom and to their various offices on the school’s board.
The Traditional Ruler of Ughelli Kingdom while specially welcoming his son on board, assured him of all possible assistance to ensure that the school succeeds more in his time and pleaded with him to carry everyone along because according to the monarch, united the school would forge ahead to the next level but divided, stagnancy will disrupt its activities.
The king who spoke through the Otota of Ughelli Kingdom, Chief Peter Akpofure while responding to the board chairman’s earlier speech, assured that the king would directly join hands in ensuring that the bill elevating the school to College is signed into law by the Governor of Delta State soonest.
Earlier in his speech during the courtesy visit to the king’s palace, the Chairman of the Board, Prince Dr. Chris Oharisi on behalf of his board members,school management and staff appealed to his father, the Traditional Ruler of Ughelli Kingdom, to help and use his good offices to prevail on the Governor of Delta State to quickly sign into law the bill now before him upgrading the school to a College of Health, Science and Technology in the overall interest of Ughelli Kingdom and its 23 communities.
