Okomitete bags south-south excellence award

Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Conflict Resolution, Chief Gordon Okomitete has bagged an Award for Excellence in promoting the welfare and progress of youths in the South-South region, noting that he was in politics to better the lives of youths and help the less privileged in the society by using Ughelli south local government area as a starting point.
Speaking during a brief ceremony when the South-South Youth Solidarity Movement paid him a courtesy call at his Ekakpamre country home, Chief Okomitete eulogized Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as a youth-friendly governor, stressing that the present administration has done tremendously well in the area of youth empowerment and wealth creation through the various platforms designed by government to address the challenges of the people.
He noted that his agenda for the youths is in tandem with the program of the State Governor for the people hence he was determined to work and contribute his quota towards engendering peace in the State, adding that he was going to use his appointment as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Conflict Resolution to broker peace and build bridges for peace and progress in the state.
National leader of the South-South Youth Solidarity Movement, Comrade Rukky Bless in his remarks commended Chief Gordon Okomitete for his efforts at stimulating growth and relevance amongst youths in the politics of Delta State, stressing that his works of generosity and progressive drive to promote the welfare of the youths was inspiring.
The group described Chief Okomitete as a rare breed, ‘’a leader with a heart of gold and a man of enormous means and commitment towards ensuring both the youths and the aged enjoyed the dividends of democracy in all his political endeavors’’, the team leader said.
