PDP under Okowa has done well in Delta—Ogedegbe By Ukane Godwin THE Senior Special Assistant (SSA), to Governor Okowa on peace building and intelligent gathering, Comrade Austine Ogedegbe has disclosed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), administration under Governor Okowa has done well in Delta state. Comrade Ogedegbe who is contesting for chairmanship position in Ethiope East LGA, stated this while speaking to newsmen at his country home in Ovu inland Agbon kingdom on his chairmanship ambition. According to him, “PDP administration under the leadership of Governor Okowa in the state has thoroughly reposition the state for development and at the same time make it possible for everybody in the state to be carry along, adding that there is nothing like imposition again in the party” Continuing, “he has made it also possible that everyone has equal right in the party and has made PDP to be more standard in the state. This led to the victory of the party in the state where PDP won 23 out of 25 LGAs in the state, so PDP did not rigged election, the party won the election clearly, this is as a result of the hand work of Governor Okowa in the state” he added. Comrade Ogedegbe who spoke on his chairmanship ambition during the media interaction hinted that’ “if given the mandate for the forthcoming local government election, l will carry the grassroots along in so many areas, because l felt that the grassroots have not be properly carry along in the scheme of politics for the local government” Continuing, “some of the areas l said l will carry the grassroots people along are, for instance, not everybody can go to Asaba for government attention, but if given the mandate, anybody from the grassroots in the local government that is in need of such, l will make it possible for such person” Speaking further, “if elected, the elders, leaders, women, the youths and others in the local council will benefit, l will also make sure that the little things in the council will reach everybody and nobody will be sheeted” The chairmanship hopeful also hinted that, “if elected he will make a different which the people will testify, adding, that even when l was SA to Governor Okowa on peace building, l empowered over 300 market women and others in the local government, and l assured my people in the grassroots that if given the mandate, l will do more in helping to change the lives of my people for a better where they will feel the impact of government” He therefore called the youths of Ethiope East and the state in general to to be law abiding at all time adding that there is no gain in violence. He urged them to focus on education because it remains one of the bedrock to national development.
