Private school owners pledge collaboration with Ukah

THE Delta State Organization of Private  School  Owners of Nigeria  (TOPSON)  have pledged to collaborate with the State Commissioner for  Basic and Secondary  Education,  Chief  Patrick  Ukah in his determination to transform the education sector.

The State President of TOPSON,  Mr. Bagh  Ekrebe,  who stated this in Asaba  when he led his members to pay a courtesy visit to the commissioner,  lauded Chief  Ukah  for several innovative ideas and policies aimed at enhancing  the quality of education in the state.

While congratulating Chief  Ukak on his appointment as the Commissioner for  Basic and Secondary Education,   Mr. Ekrebe  described the commissioner as an uncommon administrator whose passion to uplift the sector  was unprecedented.

Ekrebe noted that education was  a social service that would be effectively accessed by all at all times,  adding  that, the objective of TOPSON  was anchored on wholeness,  unity, moral soundness and professional integrity.

He urged the state government to provide an enabling environment for private schools to access efficient and sustainability system,   just  as he called for more functional partnership between the Ministry of Basic and Education  and TOPSON  especially in the area of the enrolment of external examination, such as the cognitive and placement examinations

Earlier,  the State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education,  Chief  Patrick Ukah,  who assured the organization of his Ministry’s synergy to move the education sector forward,  appealled to all stakeholders in the industry to contribute their quota towards actualising the vision of Governor  Ifeanyi Okowa  in building a stronger Delta in the education sector.

Chief Ukah  enjoined the private school owners in the state to ensure that they were registered with the Teachers Registration Council and consistently interface with parents through the Parents Teachers Association (PTA).
